Code and Challenge 3.0

About the Hackathon

SheBuilds Chennai Hack – Code & Challenge 3.0 is a national-level women-in-tech hackathon designed to bring together innovators, developers, designers, and problem-solvers to build impactful solutions for real-world challenges.

The event is organized by SheBuilds Chennai in collaboration with Intellexa REC, Rajalakshmi Engineering College.

Participants will compete across two stages:

  • Round 1: Online Innovation Challenge
  • Round 2: 24-Hour Offline Grand Finale

Who Can Participate?

  • Women aged 18 years and above
  • Students, professionals, freelancers, and aspiring entrepreneurs
  • Teams of 2–3 members
  • Participants from both technical and non-technical backgrounds are welcome

This is a women-exclusive hackathon aimed at creating an inclusive and empowering environment for innovation.


Round 1: Online Innovation Challenge

What Participants Need to Do

Teams must:

  1. Select a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) or impact-focused theme.
  2. Identify a real-world problem.
  3. Propose an innovative solution.
  4. Submit their idea through the application portal with the given PPT template.

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated by industry experts based on:

  • Problem Understanding
  • Innovation & Creativity
  • Feasibility
  • Scalability
  • Potential Social Impact

Outcome

The Top 50 teams will be shortlisted and invited to compete in the offline finale at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai.


Round 2: Offline Grand Finale (Top 50 Teams Only)

August 1–2, 2026

What Happens in Round 2?

Unlike traditional hackathons where teams continue building their Round 1 idea, shortlisted teams will receive new challenge statements during the finale.

Teams will:

  • Analyze the challenge statement
  • Ideate solutions
  • Build a working prototype within 24 hours
  • Receive mentorship from industry experts
  • Present their solution before judges

Evaluation Criteria

Finalists will be assessed on:

  • Innovation
  • Technical Implementation
  • User Experience
  • Business & Impact Potential
  • Presentation and Demonstration

  • Top 50 Teams Announcement: July 15, 2026
  • Offline Finale: August 1–2, 2026

Selected teams may receive guidance and ecosystem support for:

  • Patent opportunities
  • Research publications
  • Startup development
  • Incubation and growth programs
